Sunday, September 20, 2009, will signal the kick off for long term adult Bible studies designed to transform the lives of the participants by providing the fellowship of a small group for study, prayer, preparation, support, and servanthood.
Disciple Bible Study is a program of disciplined Bible study “aimed at developing strong Christian leaders. It focuses on the disciple as learner, believer, follower, proclaimer, and servant while providing the fellowship of a small group. Disciple 1 is a prerequisite for all other Disciple classes, Jesus in the Gospels, and Christian Believer.
- Disciple I: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study: This program journeys through the entire Bible, Genesis to Revelation, in 34 weeks. Disciple I is a prerequisite for all other Disciple programs.
- Disciple II: Into the Word, Into the World: This version is a 32-week study of Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts.
- Disciple III: Remember Who You Are: The study encompasses a 32-week study of the Prophets and the writings of Paul.
- Disciple IV: Under the Tree of Life: This program is a 32-week study of the Writings in the Old Testament (Psalms, Proverbs, Song of Songs, Job, etc.) and the Johannine literature (John; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John; James; Jude; and Revelation) of the New Testament.
- Christian Believer: This 30-week study makes available the substance of the Christian faith that the church has confessed as a way of connecting to God and living faithfully by presenting, explaining, and interpreting Christian doctrine as the basic teaching of the church.
- Jesus in the Gospels: This is the first program in the second generation of the Disciple Bible series. The study explores the different views of Jesus as revealed by each gospel.
