The preschool program provides pre-elementary education for children two-and-a-half to five years of age in a warm, caring environment.
The preschool program targets the following learning outcomes:
- to stimulate curiosity, creativity and a desire to learn
- to help children learn to interact positively with peers and adults, both individually and in groups
- to foster the development of language through listening and speaking
- to develop large and small motor skills
- to foster a love for reading through early literacy experiences
The preschool classes are in session from the week after Labor Day until the end of May. Children are assigned to self-contained classrooms according to age and number of days in attendance each week. The school day is scheduled from 9:00 am to noon, either two, three, four, or five days a week, depending on age. Each class is staffed with a qualified lead teacher and an assistant teacher. The school has an early morning drop-off program and an extended day until 1:30 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Students need not be members of Reveille, but priority is granted to Reveille members each upcoming school year until the end of December.
