James R. Noland
Senior Pastor
Jim was appointed to serve Reveille in 2006. Before coming to Reveille, Jim served churches in Vienna, Lynchburg, Suffolk, Salem, and North Garden. He holds degrees from the University of Virginia, Southern Methodist University, and Wesley Theological Seminary. Jim is Adjunct Faculty at Union Theological Seminary here in Richmond. Jim is married to Mary Anne, who is a Registered Nurse. Jim and Mary Anne have three sons, Jake, Josh, and David; two daughters-in-law, Stormy and Amy; two granddaughters, Ellie and Peyton; and one grandson, Jake. Jim enjoys reading, running, and anything to do with UVA sports. His primary staff responsibilities are worship planning and spiritual leadership, support and supervision of staff, recruitment and selection of lay leaders, and care and maintenance of church facilities and permanent assets.
Abigail W. Kocher
Associate Pastor
Abby was appointed to serve Reveille in 2010. Born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Abby earned undergraduate and divinity degrees from Duke University. She most recently served at Duke University Chapel as the Community Minister, with a particular focus on cultivating relationships between the campus and surrounding communities, in addition to leading weekly worship services and retreats. Prior to divinity school, Abby served at Davidson United Methodist Church in Davidson, NC with responsibility for outreach and missions. Abby especially enjoys opportunities in ministry to delve deeply into the connections between prayer, and place and people. She brings to Reveille her passion for linking together the church’s life of Sunday worship and daily prayer with its presence in the local community and the daily practice of Christian faith. Abby is married to the Reverend Craig Kocher, who is Chaplain to the University of Richmond. They are both United Methodist elders. Abby enjoys cooking, reading, and enjoying the great outdoors with Craig and their golden retriever, Maggie. Her primary staff responsibilities include planning and leading worship and overssing missions and outreach.
Stephen A. Coleman
Associate Pastor for Congregational Care
Stephen came to Reveille in September 2001. A Richmond native, Stephen holds degrees from Hampden-Sydney College and Union Theological Seminary-Presbyterian School of Christian Education. At the Virginia Annual Conference in 2010, Stephen was licensed as a local pastor. Stephen enjoys golf, movies, board and card games. He and his wife, Beth, have one son, Wyn. His primary staff responsibilities are pastoral care coordination, oversight of lay caregivers, older adult ministry, and outreach ministries.
